Mumbai: The swashbuckling batsman and part time off-spinner Yusuf Pathan won hearts on Wednesday after he exchanged sweets with CISF security personnel at the airport on the occasion of Diwali.
The Baroda cricketer’s gesture was hailed by Twitterati when the said pictures made way to his social media channel.
The all-rounder, who is currently playing for Ranji side Baroda under the captaincy of his younger brother Irfan Pathan, took to Twitter, saying, "Salute to the #jawans who are working even on the festival day. We exchanged sweets at the Baroda airport on the occasion of Diwali. #HappyDiwali," he wrote.
Twitter was won over by this gesture and the comments, praising Yusuf, poured in.
The 34-year-old has had good start to the season with two centuries under his name in the ongoing Ranji season. Baroda will next play Tripura from November 1 in a crucial Group C encounter at Vadodara.
