114 stranded at Jaipur airport for over 6 hours as AI changes tyre

Jaipur: At least 114 passengers travelling from Jaipur to Delhi by Air India flight were stranded at the Jaipur airport on Thursday by over six hours after the aircraft developed a technical snag.
Initially, it was reported that the tyre of the aircraft had got deflated. But authorities refuted the reports, but confirmed that the tyre had to be changed due to some problem.
Passengers travelling from Jaipur to Delhi on the 1.30 pm flight were stranded for over six hours before the flight finally left at 8 pm.
According to unconfirmed reports, the aircraft's tyre got deflated while it landed in Jaipur. However, airline authorities clarified that the problem was found while checking the aircraft before take-off. "There were minor cuts on the tyre, and so it was decided to get a new one," said an officer with the airlines on Thursday.
The tyre was brought from Delhi on the Delhi--Jodhpur flight. The six-hour delay angered the passengers who were seen getting into altercations with the airline staff. "0ut of the 114 passengers, 30 opted for cancellation. The rest 84 flew to Delhi when the flight finally took off at 8pm," said an official.
