Mohali: Vigilance Awareness Week, based on the theme, ‘My Vision — Corruption-free India’ was observed at the Chandigarh International Airport from October 30 to November 4.
During the week, commuters were told about the campaign and were asked for their suggestions regarding steps which can be taken by airport personnel to improve the infrastructure. Travellers were asked to rate the status of current facilities being provided at the airport.
The week started on Monday with a pledge-taking ceremony. Airport officials and employees vowed to contribute in making India, a corruption-free country.
Various activities were organised to involve the public in eradicating the menace of corruption. A grievance-redressal meeting was also conducted where stakeholders discussed their queries. To address their issues, the airport authorities implemented a set of guidelines and rules to overcome complications in the functioning of the airport.
A meeting was also conducted with the airport staff to discuss departmental tasks and policies and improve efficiency. A painting competition was organised at State Elementary School, Jurheri.
