Foreign national creates ruckus at Delhi airport

New Delhi: A passenger set to travel to Norway was on Sunday denied boarding at the international airport here due to “abnormal behaviour”, according to CISF and police officers.

Panasenko Olena was to take a Finnair flight to Norway through Helsinki. However, she was not allowed to board the aircraft after she created a ruckus in the check-in area of the terminal building around 10 a.m. Ms.Olena was later handed over to the Delhi Police, they said.
She was taken to Safdarjung Hospital for medical test, a Delhi police officer said, adding that the Embassy of Norway was informed.

An Indira Gandhi International Airport spokesperson here confirmed the incident and added that the passenger was administered basic medication to calm her down.

The Delhi Police officer said the passenger has been admitted to the hospital as she was found “mentally disturbed” after the medical examination.

“We have not registered any case as she is mentally disturbed. We are trying to gather more information about her,” the officer said.
