Not just PV Sindhu, other celebs from Abhishek Bachchan to Preity Zinta have also called out airlines for travel troubles

Collecting air miles becomes a way of life when you are in a profession that requires you to shuttle from one place to another. And that holds especially true when you are an actor or an athlete, who has to travel often for work. While getting on and off a flight may be a routine for most, sometimes bad experiences lead them to call out the airlines that have caused them hassle. Recently, PV Sindhu expressed her ire on Twitter.
There have been some occasions when celebs, too, are out of line, like the recent incident when Aditya Narayan misbehaved with an airline official, but celebs too have their bag of woes, which they open on their social media handles. Here are some B-Towners who have voiced their anger against airlines.

Abhishek Bachchan

In October 2016, Abhishek who was on his way to Chennai got tired of waiting for the plane to take off. The actor, who is known to have a way with words, tweeted: ‘Flying to Chennai. Baggage, check. Board flight on time, check. Seat belt fastened, check. Only thing we need now are our pilots!!” He further let the airlines know that the plane was awaiting the pilots. And it seemed like a long wait as he tweeted a few times before expressing relief that there seemed to be some sign of movement.

Monica Dogra

Losing luggage on arrival can be one harrowing experience and Monica Dogra had the misfortune of facing the situation more than once. She went on a Twitter rant in July this year, when she lost her baggage post a flight. What annoyed the singer was the fact that this was the second time in a row that such an incident took place with the airline in question. She promised that she won’t be using the airline’s service anytime soon.

Sachin Tendulkar

He might have handled all sorts of sledging on the field without much trouble, but sometimes even Sachin feels the need to express his ire. He did that in April this year. The cricketer was disappointed with the services of an airline that did not confirm his family member’s waitlisted ticket despite seats being available. He also expressed anger over the airline sending the luggage to the wrong destination and their bad attitude.

Preity Zinta

Preity, too, expressed her anger through her social media account when she missed her flight to Delhi in October last year. She blamed the airline’s staff for not letting the passengers know about the final boarding time after making them wait for more than an hour.

Ameesha Patel

Constant delays annoyed Ameesha, too, when she was headed for a long schedule of Bhaiyyaji Superhitt in July 2016. She expressed her grouse against the airline that she said switched a business class flight into an all-economy at the last minute. She also lamented that the airline staff wasn’t helpful. However, she made the most of her flight time with her co-stars Sunny Deol and Arshad Warsi and even posted a picture with the two.

Harbhajan Singh

In April this year, Harbhajan Singh took to his social media account to call out pilot Bernd Hoesslin. According to the bowler’s tweet, the pilot said, ‘you bloody Indian get out of my flight’. Harbhajan also pointed out that not only was the pilot racist but he also physically assaulted a lady and abused a physically-challenged man.

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan

Many celebs, including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, have had to deal with the loss of baggage. But Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was left heartbroken when a carrier handled his sarod so badly that it was cracked and broken when he got it after his flight to Mumbai from Ahmedabad in 2010. He was almost in tears when he told a newspaper, “It was 25 years old. I will now not be able to perform at the Fine Arts Society and I will have to go there to apologise to the people who will turn up to listen to me and my sarod. It must be the work of some porter who tried to open the case. I almost cried when I saw the state of the instrument.” The maestro wished that airlines were more careful when they handled precious cargo. However, he did not take any action against the airlines. Instead, his wife flew in with another sarod so that he could go ahead with his performance.
