Taxi union seeks action against rental counter at airport

Vasco: The United Taximen Union have threatened to paralyze the transport and passengers movement at Dabolim airport, if the state government fails to initiate action against a car rental services counter which has opened at Dabolim airport on Monday.
Speaking to reporters at Dabolim airport, UTU president Sanjay Naik disclosed that the members of the union who are operating their taxis were surprised to see a new counter at Dabolim airport on Monday.
He alleged that the state government and the Goa Tourism Development Corporation are trying to bypass the yellow black taxi operators who are operating their taxis at Dabolim airport for the last four decades. He informed that the state government was earlier forced to stop the STC counter who was illegally operating their taxis from Dabolim airport.
