Agartala: The Tripura government on Tuesday decided to reduce the tax on air turbine fuel (ATF) to 1% from 18% for Kailashahar airport to attract aviation companies to connect the northwestern town of Tripura.
Information minister Bhanu Lal Saha said the Centre has a plan to connect inter-state airports to boost the aviation industry as well as establish air link between small towns. "It is estimated that about 50 people land at Agartala airport every day from different destinations. Those travelling to North Tripura find it very tiring and time consuming to travel by road," he said.
