Air India Flight Delayed by 1.30 Hours as Captain Reaches Airport Late, Passengers Fume

New Delhi: An Air India flight was delayed by one-and-half hours on Wednesday as the captain reached the Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport late. The Air India flight AI 459 from Delhi to Vijaywada had over 100 passengers including Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapati Raju onboard.

The onboard passengers protested and questioned the minister for the delay. Raju immediately asked Air India CMD Pradeep Kharola for the reason behind the delay, Air India Spokesperson GP Rao said.

The flight finally took off for Vijaywada after one-and-half hours.

Air India took action against three staffers, who have been suspended and a warning letter has been issued to the captain for reaching the airport late, Rao added.
