Dum Dum: A Ranchi-bound flight made an emergency landing at Calcutta airport on Friday evening after the pilot suspected a snag.
The Calcutta-Ranchi AirAsia flight had taken off from the city at 4.50pm. When it was about to land in Ranchi, the pilot suspected a problem in the landing gear, an airport official said. The Airbus A320, with 100-odd passengers on board, returned to Calcutta, the official said. The aircraft hovered for some time before landing in Calcutta. The flight landed safely and smoothly vacated the runway, he said.
