First flight from Udaipur arrives at Kishangarh airport

Ajmer/Jaipur: Kishangarh Airport finally got its first scheduled flight from Udaipur on Friday afternoon.
The scheduled flight to and for Udaipur has disappointed citizens who were awaiting direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. The maiden flight is part of Regional Air Connectivity (RIC) promoted by the state government and operated by Zoom Air.
"The operations have finally started from Kishangarh. More flights are likely and I am hoping by March and April, Kishangarh airport will have three more connections," said Sanjeev Jindal, general secretary, Airport Authority of India (AAI).
Sources said that airlines have showed interest in operating flights but they want to see the market response to the first flight. In fact, during rainy season and winters, airlines avoid start at new destinations due to fear of cancellations. Even the landing during fog/smog is not possible in Kisgangarh. The feasibility report of the airlines has observed that due to marble slurry nearby, the chances of smog becomes higher.
"I am aware of the problem and installing equipment making landing even in low visibility," said Jindal, who assured that as the connectivity between a religious town and tourist city will increase the flow of tourist in both the cities.
