FlightSafety Launches New P&WC PT6A Pilot Course

FlightSafety International will begin a new Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-series pilot familiarization course in Brazil early next year, geared for agricultural pilots. Additional locations will be added according to customer needs, according to the company.

The one-day course will provide pilots with information regarding normal and abnormal operation, operational procedures and recommendations to help ensure the engines perform at peak efficiency, FlightSafety said. It also includes an in-depth overview of the engine’s major systems and its interface with the aircraft.

FlightSafety has been the authorized training provider for P&WC since 2010, delivering more than 15,000 courses for the company’s turboprop, turbofan and turboshaft engines and auxiliary power units to customers from 126 countries. These training programs include in-depth classroom and hands-on instruction designed to develop, expand and refine proficiency, according to FlightSafety. The training is currently available in Bangalore, India; Brisbane, Australia; Botucatu, Brazil; Dallas/Fort Worth; Haikou, China; Johannesburg; Montreal; Paris Le Bourget; Singapore; Toronto; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Wichita.
