Mangaluru: For the first time, Mangaluru International Airport here on Thursday December 21 came alive with the spirit and joy of Christmas as the five-day celebration of the global festival, hosted by the airport authorities began on a high note.
The airport has been bedecked with decorations befitting the festive atmosphere.
The artistes of 'White Doves' NGO of Mangaluru headed by Corrine Rasquinha presented a beautiful musical drama about the birth of Jesus Christ. The wonderful performance by the artistes was backed by enchanting stage setting, music and lights that perfectly complemented each other.
'C 7', the White Doves Gospel band enthralled the airport passengers and their family members with Christmas carols.
Speaking to daijiworld, airport director V V Rao said, "This is first time we are celebrating Christmas in Mangaluru airport. We have planned a five-day celebration both in and outside the terminal. CISF, customs, immigration and staff of all airlines which operate from here are ready with many performances like flash mob, Santa Claus dance, carol singing and many more surprises. Children who arrive and depart from here will get surprise gifts from the staff."
