Jet's Dhaka-Kolkata flight taxis with one flyer less, returns to pick him up

New Delhi: Jet Airways' Dhaka-Kolkata flight on Monday was delayed by two and a half hours as one of the passengers at Kolkata airport went to an adjoining boarding gate after reporting at airlines boarding gate counter.
While the count tallied with the flight's passenger list at the gate, the aircraft actually had one flyer less. This discrepancy appeared during a pre-takeoff headcount. Following which, the plane had to be taken back to a remote bay to pick up the passenger.
By the time the crew realised they had one person short, the plane had been pushed back for taxiing. The plane was refuelled and took off with a delay of 2.5 hours.
This uncommon confusion took place on Jet's Dhaka-Kolkata flight (9W 273) on Christmas.
