Spicejet starts a website for hotels and holiday packages

Spicejet now has a new website called Spicevacations for booking hotel rooms and buying hotel packages.  Spicejet’s new website says that it has more than 35,000 hotels it looks the hotels are only in India and they do not aggregate hotels in other countries. However, it does have holiday packages in Dubai, Male and Thailand.

Meanwhile, it looks like its rival Indigo and GoAir also has hotels and packages websites as well. Jet Airways, on the other hand, has a number of partnerships with hotels.  Indigo has also partnered with homestay aggregator GuestHouser for holiday homes. As part of this tie-up, Indigo’s customers will be sent customised notifications seven days prior to their journey, if they have booked an Indigo flight to destinations where GuestHouser has its presence.
More airlines are now offering services which were traditionally offered by online travel agencies such as Goibibo, Makemytrip and Ixigo. Indigo also tied up with Zoomcar and car rental company Savari this week to offer airport transfers to its passengers from the airport and other locations in the city. Jet Airways also offer airport transfer service to its passengers with intercity travel or self-drive options. To offer these services, Jet Airways has tieups with Uber and CarsonRent.

Note that in June, Spicejet also forayed into e-commerce with a website called SpiceStyle.The website featured products across six categories:r Men, Women, Kids, Electronics, Travel and Designers. The Designers category currently only features Rohit Bal. The company has tied-up with Delhivery to handle logistics.  he website mentions that currently , hey ship products only to select locations within India, though they haven’t specified the locations.
