462 gms of gold worth Rs 12.36 lakh seized from passenger at Goa Airport

Panaji: Air intelligence unit of Goa Customs at Dabolim International Airport seized 462 grams gold worth Rs 12.36 lakhs from a passenger on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, a senior official of Customs said that the yellow metal was seized from a passenger who landed at the airport from Dubai in an Air India flight.
According to the official, the passenger, whose identity was not revealed, had hidden the gold in a private part of his body, which was known after the sleuths checked him with metal detectors.
''Once the aircraft landed at the airport, my officers went to rummage it. With their intelligence they intercepted one particular passenger. That passenger was actually denying.
