Mumbai: In a bid to save capital, loss-making national carrier Air India has terminated the services of over 400 non-technical employees. These employees, mostly hired on contract after retirement, exclude pilots, flight dispatchers, service engineers, and flight safety staff among others.
A circular issued by RJ Shinde, executive director-personnel, on January 5, however said employees handling critical assignments could, however, be exempted after putting up proper justification for their retention before the CMD on a case to case basis.
