Air India agrees for additional flights after Councilors’ protest

Leh: Air India agreed for additional flights tomorrow and accommodation for the stranded passengers following protest by the Councilors against cancellation of  the flight for the last four days and consequent inconvenience to the passengers.
According to the reports,  the Air India has agreed to operate two additional flights  from Leh  and  pay the bills for hotel accommodation to all the stranded passengers for which they will have to produce bills at the time of their departure.
In this regard, the Councilors obtained  a written assurance note from  the Air India authority.  The Councilors also warned Air India to be cautious in future and avoid such lapses so that passengers may not face problems.
Earlier, a team of  the  Councilors, including that of Martselang, Lower-Leh, Chushul, Igoo, Sumoor, Skyu-Markha, Nyoma, Deskit and nominated Councilor Lama Sonam Chosphel protested against the alleged lapses on the part of Air India and demanded sufficient additional flights tomorrow besides accommodation for the stranded passengers.
One of passengers, Abhijeet Chakarborty, alleged that  no one from Airlines side was responding  to their queries and they were  not even served any refreshment except juice and biscuits that too very late. He also alleged that staff of the aforesaid Airlines was very rude to passengers and denied accommodation.
