Blast fallout: Security tightened at Gaya airport

Gaya: Following the Friday evening blast in Bodh Gaya and subsequent recovery of explosives from heavily crowded places near the Tibetan monastery where Buddhist spiritual leader Dalai Lama is putting up, security of the Gaya International Airport has been tightened.
According to SSP Garima Malik, security of the airport is the responsibility of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Patrolling outside the airport has been intensified and high vigil is being maintained. Gaya airport boundary perimeter is about 14 km.
Sources said as part of the internal mechanism, Secondary Ladder Point Checking (SLPC) has been introduced at the airport which means passengers and their hand luggage are checked at the aircraft entry point. This check is besides the intensive security check done on every passenger before entry to the airport's security zone. Quick Response team too has been put in place.
