CCIK opposes outsourcing of space at Srinagar airport

Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries-Kashmir (CCIK) has opposed Srinagar Airport Authority of India move’s to “let out the space meant for shopping and eateries in the Srinagar Airport Building to an ‘outsider’”.
A press handout issued here reads that “The CCIK has been informed that the entire commercial space is going to be let out to a Master Concessioner, who would in turn run it as per his own whims. It is said that the qualification was set up in such a manner that no local could apply as he would not qualify.  Conditions seem to have been made deliberately difficult for obvious reasons.”
The statement adds that CCIK has been told that eviction notices have already been served upon the present tenants who are locals.
