Kochi: Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's major low cost airline, which has begun operation to Kochi, is exploring the possibility of a tie-up with Kerala tourism.
"There is a great opportunity for Kuwait and Kerala in the field of medical and leisure tourism. There is lot of traffic especially during weekends to Kerala out of Kuwait, many of whom could be seeking medical treatment in the state," said Andrew Ward, VP marketing & customer experience, Jazeera. He said he would try to meet the Kerala tourism minister during next visit.
Jazeera has launched four weekly flights into Kochi from Kuwait. Kochi is the third route in India being offered by the airlines after Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
Ward said the airlines will add fourth destination, Mumbai in February. It is also looking at launching flights to other cities later.
