On retuen journey after holidaying 5 friends miss flight, accuse airline of not cooperating well

Ahmedabad: A group of passengers from city who had gone to Vietnam on a holiday experienced an unpleasant return journey after they missed the Mumbai-Ahmedabad connecting flight. While one of the six friends managed to board the scheduled flight, the others could not. So, two of the passengers left behind were accommodated on a flight to Ahmedabad and three on a flight to Vadodara from where they were left to arrange for their journey to Ahmedabad. Entrepreneur Ranna Shah and her friends accused the airline of not cooperating with them and making their return journey an unpleasant experience.

However, the airline claims that their incoming flight from Bangkok got delayed at Mumbai due to ATC congestion. Furthermore, there was congestion at immigration and the passengers could not board their 2.35 am connecting flight to Ahmedabad on January 16. Narrating her ordeal Shah said, “We reached Mumbai airport 1 hour 30 mins before our next connecting flight on January 16. We got our checked-in bags within 30 minutes. The immigration got over on priority and we were also issued boarding passes. One of us even boarded the flight. But as soon as five of us reached Jet Airways gate for boarding, we were told that we were late.”
She added, “We asked them to make an alternate arrangement and accommodate all of us on the same flight, but the airline refused. They then booked two of us on the 5.30 am Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight. After much discussion, they booked the three others on a flight to Vadodara from where they were left to travel to Ahmedabad on their own.” She claimed the airline could have allowed all five of them on the 5.30 am flight because at least 10 seats were unoccupied.
