A fly-by company named Flyeasy collected Rs 36 lakh from job-seekers who were hoping to get jobs in airline companies and in return taught them typewriting.
The company’s promoters were absconding after demand for the return of the money was made. When police went after them, Rs 2 crore was returned to job seekers and they sought protection from the court. The court, however, asked them to explain why they refunded the money when in the first instance they were not entitled to collect money. It refused to interfere in the police action against them.
Four persons, Rajesh Ebrahim Kutty Beevi, Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan, Mohd Azeem Ali Baig and Sundaram Subramanian involved with the Flyeasy company approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail. They are among the seven against whom the Cubbon Park police have registered a case. They feared arrest by the police.
The prosecution, however, submitted to the court that the investigation in the case has come to a grinding halt because the four persons were absconding. They had started a joint stock company and there were several complaints against it. The HC noted that job aspirants were made to pay Rs 37 lakh each by the said Flyeasy (ABC Aviation and Training Serevices Private Limited) company promising them jobs in various airlines. However, according to the complainants, it turned out to be false promises. 14 persons had filed the complaint on September 14 last year. The police suspect that the company had collected over Rs 4 crore from various job aspirants.
