Imphal: Multiple scenes of commotion broke out today within Imphal airport premises as passengers scheduled to fly to Guwahati and Delhi at 9.45 am were asked to leave the airport after the same flight (6E-687) was cancelled.
The flight was cancelled after it was rescheduled several times at 10.55 am, 12 noon, 12.30 pm, 2.40 pm and 3.15 pm.
As the passengers learnt that there was no flight available tomorrow (January 14) and flight tickets for January 15 are very expensive, they raised the same matter with Indigo Airlines authorities and demanded an alternative flight to Guwahati and Delhi.
The aggrieved passengers could not stop themselves when they saw other Indigo flights flying in the same sector and tried to block the gates.
Some passengers blocked the gates, some others argued with Indigo officials while some others contacted media houses.
After all these joint efforts of the passengers, Indigo Airlines authorities finally announced an alternative flight 6E-9687 scheduled at 7.25 pm today.
