What can be termed as a major boost to development of Nagpur, Maharashtra Government has sanctioned the development plan of New Nagpur Airport and also approved liberal financial aid. The government has given its nod for the expenditure of Rs 700 crore for the airport project and also cleared the expenditure of Rs 200 crore in the first phase. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made this major announcement while addressing a gathering at Besa-Beltarodi on Sunday evening.
Making another big announcement to boost the education scenario here, Fadnavis stated that the State government has given clearance to the development plan for the construction of Maharashtra National Law University Campus at Nagpur. The total plan of Rs 750 crore has been cleared in the meeting and Rs 200 crore have been sanctioned in the first phase for the construction work, he added.
Chief Minister launched four peri-urban water supply schemes at Besa-Beltarodi and performed bhoomipujan for construction of the flyover from Manish Nagar to Ujjawal Nagar.
Union Minister for Road, Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari presided over the function while Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Water Supply Minister Babanrao Lonikar, Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Vikas Mahatme, MLA Sudhir Parve, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, ZP President Nisha Sawarkar, CEO Dr Kadambari Balkawde, Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham, and Santosh Kumar were present on the dais.
Fadnavis and Gadkari also inaugurated Beltarodi Police Station on the occasion.
Recalling his continuous struggle of 10 years for the construction of Manish Nagar flyover, Chief Minister Fadnavis appreciated Union Minister Gadkari for the best design of the flyover and underpass, therefore, there is no need to demolish any house of the area. National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing flyover as well as underpass for this project. This will resolve the traffic problem of the city. The BJP government is implementing water supply schemes and all the schemes have been completed during its tenure.
