Amritsar: The maiden direct flight between Amritsar and Birmingham will take off on February 20. MP Rajya Sabha Shwait Malik and Union Minister of State and BJP state president Vijay Sampla will inaugurate the flight at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar.
The flight was announced by Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha in November 2016.
The Air India’s direct non-stop flight between Amritsar and Birmingham will fly twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday and return from Birmingham on Wednesday and Friday.
This flight will take off from the city at 13:55 IST and land at Birmingham Airport by 17:15 BST and will depart from Birmingham Airport at 18:45 BST and land at SGRD Amritsar Airport by 07:45 IST.
