India’s domestic air passenger traffi c crossed the 100-million mark for the fi rst time in 2017, led by New Delhi and Mumbai airports, which together accounted for a 69% share, according to Directorate General of Civil Aviation data.
New Delhi & Mumbai airports will be supplemented with new airports to cater to future demand. While work on Navi Mumbai International Airport has begun, Jewar airport construction is likely to start by December.
