Flights fail to land at Bhopal airport due to fog

Bhopal: The fog in the state capital affected the air service in the city as no flight could land at the Raja Bhoj Airport on Tuesday morning. The Air India and Jet Airways flights were diverted to Indore and Jaipur due to low visibility. The flights had arrived from Delhi and Mumbai.

The fog was so dense that the flights, which reached Bhopal in the morning, had to make several rounds in the sky. According to the Weather Department the visibility was 50 meters in the morning. The effect of fog was seen till 12 noon.

Meanwhile the weatherman has said the weather in the state capital would clear from Wednesday. The citizens in the State capital on Tuesday woke up to a foggy morning with very intense cold weather conditions that prevailed throughout the day.

Sharp dip in the day temperature was felt and it was recorded 4 degree Celsius below the normal temperature at 22.5 degree Celsius. Dark clouds were witnessed and cold winds were witnessed during the day. The early morning hours were with very low visibility.

Met official said that the weather conditions would start to normalize after Wednesday as the system movement will impact the weather conditions for the next two days.
