An Indian national who had been working in Malaysia for 15 years using another man’s passport died at the airport while being deported, reported Makkal Osai.
Malaysia Global Rescue Humanity president T. Kamalanathan said he received information about the death of R. Pandiarajan, 42, and noticed the difference when he saw the body at the hospital.
The group managed to contact the man’s wife, who confirmed the deceased was indeed Pandiarajan.
They then collected the man’s original identification documents and contacted the Immigration Department.
Pandiarajan was being sent back to India on Jan 29 after being detained for three months when he died of a heart attack.
Kamalanathan said the group was helping the family get the man’s body back to Tamil Nadu.
