Thiruvananthapuram: The State Budget presented by Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac on Friday proposes the completion of the land acquisition process for the expansion of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The work on light metro will also be started this year, subject to approval from the Centre this fiscal.
A sum of ₹200 crore has been allocated for the construction of the Mannanthala-Powdikonam model road. Funds of ₹25 crore have been allocated for the re-construction of the Amayizhanjan canal from Kannammoola to Akkulam.
A waste water treatment plant will be installed at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College at a cost of ₹25 crore. A sewage system will be put in place in the Kazhakuttam constituency at a cost of ₹200 crore. Keltron gets an allocation of ₹40 crore, while Kerala Automobiles gets an allocation of ₹10 crore.
