Dum Dum: A 14-year-old boy found loitering in the airport on Wednesday turned out to be a teenager reported missing from Dispur in Guwahati.
The boy told police that a person had brought him to the city with the promise of a job. He reached Calcutta on a flight from Guwahati on Tuesday, the police quoted him as saying.
The boy's "escort" apparently vanished after reaching the city. "The boy went to Howrah to catch a train to Assam and apparently spent the night there," an airport official said.
He returned to the airport on Wednesday morning as he had no money. The boy was found loitering in front of gates 4A and 4B around 10.30am. Central Industrial Security Force men questioned him and got a phone number to contact his family. He was handed over to Airport police station.
