The Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) which operates the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will organise Runway 10K on May 8 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the airport.
The Runway 10K is a one of a kind run which will be held on the runway of the airport.
BIAL has asked individuals above the age of 18 years to register for the event which is said to the first of kind to be held on an airport runway in India.
Only 100 participants would be selected to take part in the run, which will be between 12.45 pm and 2.30 on May 8.
The last date for registration is April 30.
BIAL has obtained clearance from the aviation regulatory agencies and as the airport is a highly regulated area, the participants will be strictly required to follow the airport entry procedures.
There would be no change in flight plans or disruptions and diversions due to event though the runway would be closed for the run.
BIAL Officials said that May 8 falls on a Tuesday and the airport runway is incidentally closed down every Tuesday between 12.30 pm and 3 for maintenance work.
