Direct flights to Bahrain from May

Bengaluru: Come May and you can fly direct to Bahrain from the city. Gulf Air will commence operations to Bahrain starting May 1. The airline, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, will be the only one to offer daily connectivity seven days a week on the route.
With the commencement of flights, Bengaluru will become the eighth Indian city to connect to Bahrain. Bengaluru will become the second destination in the state after Mangaluru to operate a flight to Bahrain.
The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) had listed Bahrain as one of the international destinations in its summer schedule. The summer schedule commenced on March 25, 2018 and will be in effect until October 27, 2018. The operations of flights between the two cities comes after nearly eight years. Gulf Air had earlier operated flights till 2010.
With direct flights to Bahrain, KIA now connects 22 international destinations (20 direct and two connecting).
This is the second new international carrier to start operations from Bengaluru in the last six months. Since December 2017, Malindo Air has been operating flights from KIA to Kuala Lumpur twice each week.
