AAI To Streamline Traffic At Airport After Jay Panda Rakes Up Issue On Twitter

Bhubaneswar: In response to a series of tweets this morning by Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda pointing out the poor traffic management at the Biju Patnaik International (BPI) Airport here compared to other airports in the country, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha directed the airport authorities to take cue from airports in other cities and streamline the traffic flow in Bhubaneswar.

Jay Panda today took to the microblogging site to post about the unwarranted traffic mismanagement at the airport and wrote, “Bhubaneswar airport seems to be the only 1 where ALL vehicles have to pass thru parking check gates even if they are NOT parking but only dropping off or picking up passengers! This chokes the airport entrance/exit & causes huge inconvenience & delay. @aaibpiairport, plz rectify?”
Though the authorities of the BPI airport were quick to reply, “Honourable Sir, almost all airports in India, similar arrangements exist,”, the twitterati was unhappy with the ‘overconfident’ response of the officials. They immediately tweeted a series of responses:

“@aaibpiairport Do you even know OLA drivers are charged unnecessarily?U giv dem only 6 min & they r choked up in a jam bcz of which the drivers have to shell out firm their pockets. This is a big inconvenience,” Rajat Narsapur tweeted.
