Sanitary pad dispensers come up at airport

Mohali: To spread awareness on menstrual hygiene and for the convenience of women passengers, sanitary napkin-vending machines have been installed at the Chandigarh international airport.
A total of ten machines, each with a stock of 26 packs, were set up recently in public washrooms in the departure and arrival area of the airport.
Sources said two more such machines would be set up in the coming months.
Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) CEO Suneel Dutt said the initiative was part of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) endeavour to provide low-cost sanitary pads and promote awareness on menstrual hygiene. “Such initiatives are part of our continuous efforts to provide better infrastructure and travel experience to passengers,” said Dutt.
