Hubballi: With another low-cost airline, IndiGo, commencing its operations to Hubballi, air connectivity from the city to other parts of the country will get a much-needed boost.
The number of flight schedules will be almost doubled by July 1, thanks to PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious regional connectivity initiative. More flights are expected to fly from the city as SpiceJet has planned to connect Colombo and Dubai in addition to national capital Delhi in the coming days.
The city has benefited a lot from the regional connectivity scheme, UDAN (Ude Deshka Aam Nagarik). Four small budget airliners were chosen in second round bidding by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
