Airport Economic Regulatory Authority of India invites stakeholders to talks

The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA), which issued a consultation paper for determination of aeronautical tariff at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), has called on all stakeholders to participate in a consultation meeting on June 18.
The regulatory body has asked the state government, the airport operators, all independent service providers, registered cargo trade bodies, airlines, oil companies and other stakeholders to be present at the meeting and express their views on aeronautical tariffs in respect of KIA for the second control period (April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2021). It extended the last date for submission of written comments on the consultation paper from June 14 to June 25.
It is still uncertain whether the general public would be allowed to take part in the meeting. The AERA has proposed new User Development Fees (UDF) rates for international and domestic embarking passengers. The proposed UDF for an international passenger is Rs 316.76 and for a domestic passenger is Rs 79.19, effective from July 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019, respectively.
