CBI asks AAI official to look into RTI activist’s complaint

Surat: After the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has asked the chief vigilance officer of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to look into the complaint by a city-based RTI activist over alleged illegal construction of 18 residential buildings obstructing the path at the Surat runway.
RTI activist Sanjay Ezhawa had written letters to CVC and CBI in April demanding inquiry against the central and state government authorities, including Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), for alleged irregularities and turning a blind eye to the illegal construction of 18 residential buildings that are obstructing the runway path and have violated the terms and condition of the no-objection certificate (NOC) issued by the AAI.
Through a letter, CBI has informed Ezhawa that his complaint for probe has been forwarded to AAI vigilance department for appropriate action.
