Cricketer held with cartridges, gets remand

Mohali: The Chandigarh-based club-level cricketer, who was arrested with two rounds of .32 mm cartridges from the local airport, on Tuesday was presented in court, which sent him to one-day police remand.
Though the cricketer told the police he got the cartridges at a marriage function, cops want to investigate him to know the source of the cartridges. He did not have the licence to keep these.
“We believe that more than one person could be associated with him. We also want to trace the source from where he got these cartridges,” said an investigating police officer.
He was handed over to the local police after the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployed at the airport recovered the same from his baggage.
