Family members of Mumbai plane crash victims blame aviation company for tragedy

New Delhi: Family members of those who were killed in Thursday's plane crash in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area have blamed the aviation company that owned the aircraft for the tragedy.
They said the tragedy could have been averted if the aviation company had followed safety measures.
The four people on board who died in the crash were: Captain PS Rajput, co-pilot Maria Zuberi, assistant maintenance engineer Surbhi Gupta and air technician Manish Panday. The identity of the pedestrian who was killed in the crash could not be ascertained. The two injured are identified as Lavkush Kumar and Naresh Kumar Nishad.
Prabhat Kuthariya, husband of Maria Zuberi, said, "The accident could have been averted. The aviation company is responsible for this unfortunate accident."
In Haryana's Sonepat, the father-in-law of Surbhi Gupta asked why did the aviation company allowed the faulty aircraft to fly? He said the guilty must be punished after investigating the matter.

Surbhi's father, Surya Gupta, said that in her last phone call, Surbhi told him that her team was working on the test drive of a very old plane which is not in a poor condition.

However, Tarvinder Singh, brother of PS Rajput, said they don't want to blame anyone for the accident. "The investigating agency will find out the reason. We are proud of him for saving many people," he said.
