Madurai: Muvendar Munnetra Kazhagam will organise a conference in Madurai on August 26 to demand the Madurai airport be named after Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Thevar.
President of the party G M Sridhar Vandayar who spoke to the media after the party’s executive committee meeting in Madurai on Sunday, said that the airport must be named after the great leader. The Centre had said that the Tamil Nadu government had to issue a no objection certificate in this regard, as the state government had earlier passed a resolution that no public building would be named after a leader.
