New outlet sells reasonably priced beverages at Pune airport

Pune: Now, you can have a cup of tea or coffee at the airport without burning a hole in your pocket.
An outlet selling beverages at affordable prices was unveiled at the city airport on Monday. While it will charge Rs 10 for a bottle of water, a cup of tea will cost Rs 20 and coffee, Rs 25.
Currently, there are around 12 outlets inside the terminal building which mainly sell snacks and beverages. The airport lounge-cum-restaurant has been under renovation for more than two months now.
The airport authorities said the plan to sell products at affordable prices was conceptualised around a year ago and it had become a reality now. Similar outlets selling food items at reasonable rates will come up in the near future.
“Passengers have always complained about the exorbitant price of food and beverages being sold both inside and outside the terminal building. We have been making efforts to provide all options to the people. Currently, there is a restaurant located on the premises which serve South Indian food at affordable rates. With the opening of the outlet inside the building, we feel passengers’ choices will increase,” an airport official told TOI.
