Passenger caught with US dollars worth over Rs 1 crore in Mumbai airport

Mumbai: A passenger with US dollars worth over Rs 1 crore in his hand bag was stopped at the Mumbai airport on Thursday.
Around 12.10 am, during pre-embarkation security check CISF inspector Vikesh who was deployed as screener at the VIP section of terminal 2 detected $1,89,000 worth of currency in the hand bag of a passenger, identified as Kunal Hare Bajaj, said a press release issued by the CISF. "He was to travel to Goa on Air India flight AI-033. He had no valid douments on his to account for the dollars and so the passenger along with the cash was handed over to income-tax officials," the release added.
