Panaji: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is set to install a new instrument landing system at Goa international airport, Dabolim, while also sharing real-time flight data with the Indian Navy.
AAI air navigation service member A K Dutta on Sunday met representatives of the Indian Navy and naval officers from Air Traffic Control (ATC), to finalize the modalities of the information sharing protocol. Dutta discussed the Navy’s requirements and also completed a site visit to finalise the location of the ILS.
“In an effort to improve flight safety, AAI will install the new system at Goa international airport and replace the ILS of the Navy,” said an AAI source.
