Cochin airport ranked fourth in international passenger traffic

Kochi: Though Cochin International Airport Ltd (Cial) does not have direct flights to Europe and the United States, with its minimum connectivity it continues to be the airport with fourth highest international traffic in the country.
With 5.23 million passengers using the international terminal last fiscal, it recorded more international passenger traffic than other airports in major Indian cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Cial is only a few passengers short of the Chennai International Airport, which recorded 5.5 million passengers who travelled via the airport in 2017-18.
It also records higher passenger traffic than Kempegowda International Airport (Bengaluru) and Rajiv Gandhi International (Hyderabad), which recorded higher overall passenger movement in the domestic sector last year.
