Flying out of Delhi airport? Now you will have to pay much more

Flying out of Delhi may soon become even more expensive as Delhi Airport has sought a hike in passenger handling charges. The IGI Airport operator has demanded a uniform passenger service fee (PSF) for ‘facilitation’ of Rs 77 each on every passenger.

According to a Times of India report, if the government approves the hike, it would lead to a surge of Rs 67 and Rs 32 per domestic and international flyer.

For now, the domestic flyers pay Rs 10 each and international flyers pay Rs 45 each as user development fee (UDF).

Meanwhile, the government is also looking to increase security charge on air tickets. Both private airport operators and state-owned Airports Authority of India (AAI) have demanded an increase in passenger service fees after the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) raised an alarm over unpaid dues from airport operators.
