Food outlet staff held for stealing passenger’s wallet at Mumbai airport

Mumbai: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) team has traced a wallet with ₹46,000 in cash belonging to a Ahmedabad-bound passenger that went missing during baggage scanning at Mumbai airport’s Terminal 1 on Friday.

Airport officials said Nagram Chaudhary, who was travelling to Ahmedabad by SpiceJet flight SG 637, complained that his wallet had gone missing during the hand baggage scanning at 10 p.m. A CISF team then conducted a search, but failed to find the wallet.

When the team scanned the CCTV footage of the area, they found a staff member of the Travel Food Services, a ground service agency, stealing the wallet. The manager on duty was informed about the incident and the accused, Farhan Shaikh, was apprehended.
