Government to prepare road map for airports’ development

Patna: Union civil aviation ministry has asked the state government to prepare a road map entailing short, medium and long- term civil aviation operations in Bihar, Patna airport director Rajender Singh Lahauria told TOI on Monday. Talks in this regard were held between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and state government officials in Delhi on July 9.
Union minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha on Saturday claimed a comprehensive plan was being prepared for development of all airports and airstrips in Bihar and Darbhanga airport would be made functional at the earliest. Regional flights are proposed from Darbhanga to places like Delhi and Mumbai under the Centre’s Udan scheme.
Jayant talked about such plans through his official Twitter handle. On Darbhanga airport, Jayant tweeted:
“Please be assured that we are working to get Darbhanga airport ready as quickly as possible. I am personally reviewing the progress.”
