ILS operation to resume at Airport

Raipur: Airports Authority of India (AAI) authorities on Friday affirmed that the Instrument Landing System (ILS) has been restored at Swami Vivekananda Airport after 4 months. The system would be operational 0530 hours from July 14 onwards.

“Now, the Raipur-bound aircrafts will be able to land in visibility upto 1200 meters. The ILS was out-of-service at Raipur since March 5 to July 13 due to Runway Safety Area (RSA) works, which has now been completed,” said R S Sahay, Director of Swami Vivekananda Airport here.

Earlier, the timings of several flights were also rescheduled due to inoperability of ILS caused due to prolonged RSA work. However, it is now expected that soon the air operations would be restored to normalcy and fresh schedules of flights would also be released by their operators.
