Man held for job fraud had also floated fake Air India website

Chennai: The man who was arrested in the city earlier this month for creating fake metro rail websites to lure youngsters with bogus job offers was involved in a similar racket in Kerala too, said police.
Sreejith, 34, of Malappuram, had created a fake Air India website and interviewed youngsters at a star hotel in Ernakulam before being arrested by the Kerala police, said a police officer. Police arrested Sreejith on July 8 after metro rail officials lodged a complaint with Chennai city police
commissioner A K Viswanathan when they learned about the fake websites. Two of his accomplices - web
designer N Balu, 38, of West Mambalam and his assistant B Prashanth, 32, of Ernavur - were subsequently arrested on Monday. When the central crime branch of the city police approached their counterparts in Kerala for more information on Sreejith, they learned that he was arrested by Kerala police earlier this year in connection with another scam in which he had posed as a recruiter for Air India. Police have sent Sreejith's fingerprints to the state crime record bureau (SCRB) to examine his antecedents. Sreejith and his two accomplices are now detained in Puzhal
prison.
