Pune airport flip-flops on its plans for passenger transport

Pune: The incessant rains have made the walks to and from the aircraft extremely uncomfortable for the passengers at the Pune airport.
The airport officials’ solution to this very valid passenger concern has been merely to ask the airlines to provide their patrons with umbrellas. Though there was also some talk about the airport getting buses/coaches, that idea did not pan out. Now the officials want the airlines to arrange for their own coaches. Understandably, passengers are annoyed.
Sandeep Borse, an angry Jet Airways passenger, took to Twitter on Monday. His tweet read: “Please explain why the captain of 9W371 (flight number) denied entry to passengers in aircraft (as per ground staff) and made passengers wait outside aircraft for 30 minutes in rain after crossing boarding gate at Pune airport and why don’t you care for passengers (sic).”
